Context:
In collaboration with the community, the Los Angeles Department of City Planning is developing the Cornfields Arroyo Seco Specific Plan (CASP) in the Chinatown/Cornfields and Arroyo Seco “Opportunity Area” referenced in the recently completed Los Angeles River Revitalization Master Plan (LARRMP).

Goals:

• Define a mix of uses, zoning parameters, and urban design features consistent with the communities’ vision
• Promote sustainable development through participation in the LEED for Neighborhood Development Pilot Program
• Demonstrate changes that can occur along the Los Angeles River which revitalize potential, restore ecological conditions, provide new recreational opportunities, and improve water quality
